Statement Home Staging was created from a love of decorating. For Randa Chapman it all started from redecorating her home. But let me rewind for a minuteā¦Randa worked for a design center with home builders. After five years, she was laid off. At the time, Randa was pregnant with her first child and thought it was a great time to stay home and enjoy motherhood.
After Randa’s second child began school full time, she had more free time and decided to redecorate her home. It was then that the sparks flew, and the desire to decorate came into full swing. Randa reached out to a friend that was a Home Stager, and started to shadow her. Randa took an accredited course to get certified. And that is how Statement Home Staging came to be.
Randa partners with realtors and home owners to help prepare their listings and homes for sale. Randa has successfully ran her business for five years, but it didn’t happen without challenges. In fact, she said the first two years were the hardest. Her business grew strictly by word of mouth.
During her mompreneur journey Randa has learned so much. She learned to remain true to her morals and values, sometimes that meant saying no to a job. Randa has also seen some hard emotional times for families having to let go of their homes they have made many memories in. Building memories in a home is priceless so letting go can be a difficult walk.
Randa’s mompreneur advice is to always stick to your number one priority. In doing so, you can keep your peace. Remember it is ok to say no and to ask for help. When I asked Randa whether faith played a role in her journey, she said prayers is how it all began.
Randa is also a member of the Real Estate Staging Association, which is a trade association to support all professional real estate stagers. The Central Texas Members meet once a moth as a cource of industry education and comradery. A quote they often refer to is “A rising tide lifts all the boats.” Randa said when she looks back at how far she has come she is proud and thankful to have faced her own fears and for the opportunity to partner with realtors.
You may be wondering the difference between staging vs decorating. Staging is focused on creating a neutral attractive environment that appeals to a wide range of potential buyers. Decorating, on the other hand, is more personal and tailored to the homeowner’s preferences. If you are a realtor searching for a stager I highly recommend Randa. You can reach out to her HERE.
