My Waco Castle Experience

Many of us are familiar with Chip and Joanna Gaines’ work. But how many of us have an opportunity to see their beautiful work in person? As I am writing this, you can tour their latest ‘Fixer Upper’ on a century-old castle in Waco, Tx. The guided tour is an hour long and is a one-of-a-kind experience! A beautiful sight to see! As a new interior photographer, this was a very exciting day for me!

What I love about the tour is that your tour groups are small, so you get the feel of history, design, and excitement without feeling too crowded. And the time slots are spaced out well so that you are not bumping into other groups. Walking into the castle for the first time was spectacular. The design is elegant but simple. Chip and Joanna did a fabulous job bringing the castle together, honoring the past and the present.

As we walked through the castle, exploring each room, I wondered what it was like back then. Sometimes, I think about those that lived long ago what they would think about how life is today. I think that all the previous castle owners would be pleased how the castle looks today. Our tour guide shared the castle’s history and neat little facts about Chip and Joanna’s journey during the renovation and designing stages. This castle has had quite the journey! Chip and Joanna Gaines, I am not sure if you guys will ever see this, but I would like to personally thank you for allowing us the opportunity to explore the beautiful restoration of an amazing piece of Waco history. You and your team did a magnificent job, and I am sure the new home owners will love this historic beauty.
